Just a friendly reminder that the 2009 Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management starts at the end of this week.  OCIS sessions will be held in the Chicago Hyatt.

On Friday and Saturday OCIS will be sponsoring and co-sponsoring many PDWs.  In recent days (or hours) you have received e-mails from Natalia Levina and Ulrike Schultze who are each sponsoring separate workshops scheduled on Saturday morning:  at 8:00am “The U.S. – International Divide in OCIS Research?  The Journal Editors’ Perspective” (Hyatt, New Orleans) and at 11:10 am “Using Outsourcing and Offshoring as a Context for Studying Organizations” (Truffles Room).

Please check the Academy website (www.aomonline.org <http://www.aomonline.org> ) for a complete list of all PDWs and Paper Sessions.  This year OCIS is sponsoring 16 paper sessions, 27 interactive papers, and 27 visual papers.

Join us for a Welcome Reception on Saturday from 6-8pm in the Hyatt, Columbus Room -- a great chance to meet the participants in this year’s Doctoral Consortium and Junior Faculty workshops.  All OCIS members are welcome!

On Monday morning Brian Butler, 2009 Program Chair, will kick off the OCIS program.  The first sessions begin at 8:00am in the Hyatt Crystal Room and the Water Tower Room.  (A continental breakfast will be available in the Crystal Room.)

The 2009 OCIS Keynote by Professor Robert Kraut will start at 3:45 in the Water Tower Room.  This will be followed by the Annual OCIS Business Meeting at 5:15pm in the Water Tower Room.  ALL OCIS MEMBERS are encouraged to attend the Business Meeting.  The OCIS Awards will be presented at this time.  The OCIS Social will follow in Columbus KL when we’ll be voting on the Best Visual Paper.

On Tuesday morning note that an OCIS Co-Sponsored Showcase Symposium on “Materiality and Organization Studies” will be held at 8am in Columbus H.

See you soon in Chicago!

Paul Hart
2009 OCIS Division Chair
