Practitioners and OCIS Executive Committee Members Gather in MontrealMembers of the OCIS Executive Committee, practitioner members of the division, and guests from the Montreal chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) met over dinner in Montreal immediately after the annual meeting ended.
About 20 people altogether, the group met informally to begin to discuss how OCIS and IABC might share best practices to garner new members, discuss research and research opportunities, and to get to know one another. This dinner is just one of the efforts that OCIS is making to continue to grow our membership and relevance with practitioner members. James Lynch, Practitioner Member-at-Large Representative, organized the dinner. Next steps are to continue informal discussions with IABC and OCIS.
