Research Teams, IT use, and the changing contexts of work (e.g., mobile, dispersed).

Fun Fact Love travelling (been to 6 continents; hope to make it to 7 before it melts away), cooking, skiing, playing tennis and soccer (when not watching my children doing the same).

On behalf of Manju Ahuja and the OCIS exec board, you're invited to the OCIS Coffee Club!

The OCIS community has been growing over the past few years. Newcomers tell us that they would
like to connect with veteran members, and folks who have been in OCIS for awhile say they would
like to learn more about the research interests and projects of new members. What better venue to
bring people together than over coffee (or muffins or juice if that’s what you prefer!).

We invite you to join the new OCIS Coffee Club.

Here is how it works: We will pair up a new OCIS member (newly joined up to third year of
membership) with a veteran OCIS member (someone who has been with OCIS for four or more
years) to get to know each other over coffee. And the coffee is on us! Each newcomer-veteran pair
will receive a $10 Starbuck’s gift card so they can get together at the AOM conference in Boston.

Interested? Here is what to do:

If you’re a new OCIS members (0-3 years of membership) please indicate that you are a new
member and that you would like to join the coffee club by sending in your top 3 research interests
and a list of 3 OCIS members you’d like to meet by June 30, 2012.

If you’re a veteran OCIS member (4-years or more) please indicate that you are a veteran member
and send your top 3 research interests by June 30, 2012.

We will then pair two OCIS members for coffee. We will notify each pair that they’ve been put
together on July 10. Then, you’ll have three weeks before the conference to plan with each other
when and where you’d like to meet. You can pick up your Starbucks’s card at the start of the
conference in Boston. We have cards for 100 pairs, so act now!

The OCIS Coffee Club is meant as a new way to help us foster community, to help socialize
newcomers and make them feel at home at the conference, and (hopefully) to spark interesting
discussion. We hope everyone will participate in this new initiative.

Please email your research interests to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by June 30, 2012.

See you (over coffee) in Boston!
